Hello Friends, It’s a blessing in disguise that Spandan, our e-magazine, comes out months after Durga Puja, when the whirlwind of emotions has settled. What we share here is, therefore, purely factual, reflecting the truth of this incredible journey.

As some of you may know, this was SIPA’s third Durga Puja. While we’ve grown past our infancy, we’re not quite adults yet—we’re still learning, adapting, and growing. Balancing the practical, frugal, and celebratory aspects of organizing such a grand event comes with its challenges. Yes, we’ve made mistakes along the way, but the unwavering support of our families, friends, and volunteers ensures we always find a way to make things right.

We feel truly blessed and lucky. Blessed to have the opportunity to organize a colossal 5-day Durga Puja in a foreign land, supported by the warm and diverse community of Singapore. Lucky because people from all walks of life stepped forward to offer their time, effort, and love to make it all possible. This collective spirit of support is nothing short of remarkable.

This year marked the second edition of SAPTARANG, our cultural wing, where we introduced Antakshari alongside other vibrant programs. With over 30 participants across the 5 days, SAPTARANG became a celebration of inclusivity. Bengalis and non-Bengalis alike joined in, showcasing talent and creating moments of joy that resonated deeply with everyone. From bhajans to Rabindra Sangeet and fusion dances, it was a rich tapestry of culture that was not only performed but cherished by all.

With an early Puja this year, our mornings began as early as 7 AM, but the dedication of our volunteers and devotees ensured everyone was present, enthusiastic, and ready to contribute. This Puja, like every year, was a true testament to the power of community.

We owe our gratitude to our loving members, supporters, and sponsors, without whom this festival would have been incomplete. A heartfelt thanks to Zee TV, Radio Masti, A1 Immigration Services, Joyalukkas Jewellery, and many more for their invaluable support. Each year, with your faith and encouragement, we learn a little more and grow a little stronger.

Stay with us, believe in us, and continue to be a part of this incredible journey. For us, SIPA is not just an organization—it’s a family, one we hope to grow with you by our side.
